The FireBrick 105 provides out-of-the-box protection, with no configuration needed, and yet has a powerful range of additional features that allow users, consultants and OEM customers to build a product that exactly meets their needs. It is invaluable for small and large offices alike, and is particularly well suited for serviced offices and server hosting.

As standard the FireBrick 105 includes:-
- Out-of-the-box protection - be firewalled in 60 seconds
- Comprehensive session tracking firewall
- Simple web-based configuration, status, and event log pages
- Multiple subnets with advanced DHCP server and client features
- Routing, Network Address Translation, and Port & Address Mapping
- IPSec Aware (route and filter IPSec traffic)
- Named IP and Port/Protocol groups
- Managed 10/100 switch with auto-crossover and built-in cable tester
The advanced features of the FireBrick 105 are now optional, so as to provide a more flexible pricing structure:-
- Traffic shaping (e.g. for QoS)
- Control profiles (time, manual and ping based)
- FireBrick Tunnelling (for VPNs)
- Monitoring by SNMP, email and syslog
- Bonding of multiple uplinks and load balancing of multiple downlinks
- Tunnel Bonding of multiple links for a true fat pipe in both directions
- Multiple link fallback routing for high availability
- 5 port mode allowing multiple independent Demilitarized Zones (DMZs)
- VLAN subnets for use with VLAN switches and routers
