Watchfront offer professional colocation for your servers in our facilities in Maidenhead, Amsterdam and London.
"Why those locations?" we are sometimes asked. Our operations started in London (in July 2001). As our network grew, we decided to add a second location to improve resilience against network outages, data centre power problems etc.
Very nearly all data entering or leaving the UK passes through London at some point, so we chose Amsterdam (in April 2005) as a conveniently close location for our second site, with exellent facilities and completely independent Internet connectivity.
More recently, growth in London has been constrained by a severe shortage of electrical power in the Docklands area. After researching several options we opened our third location in Maidenhead (in May 2008). This has enabled us to offer more competitive services and provide you with room to grow.
All our facilities have direct local internet transit, and private links connecting them together. By operating multiple closely coupled but independent facilities, we are able to provide a very high level of resilience where required.

Services
All customer servers are operated in an air conditioned, secure environment, with UPS and generator backed up power feeds and very early smoke detection and fire suppression.
Network connectivity and IP addresses are provided as required. Servers are connected (via firewall) directly to our network backbone.
We aim to be flexible. Extras such as automated backup and FireBrick port rental are available. If you need something we don't list, please ask.
Requirements
All servers must be suitably firewalled. If you buy a FireBrick from us we will colocate it free for as long as you have server colocation.
If you choose to supply your own machine for colocation, it must meet certain physical and configuration requirements. We will contact you before installation with the necessary details.
Servers
We are happy to supply servers to meet your requirements, pre-installed with Linux. Servers are built to requirement. For a selection of typical configurations, please see our online shop.
